This year, along with several popular carols in English by composers such as Richard Rodney Bennett, William Matthias and Christopher Robinson, the Cappella Singers performed Seven Magnificat Antiphons by Arvo Pärt (in German), four beautiful, unaccompanied pieces in Russian (two by Alexander Kastalsky (1856-1926) and one for an all-female chorus by Ephrem Podgaits (b. 1949)) and one carol in Ukrainian by Vasil Barvinsky (1888–1963).

The acting Assistant Organist of Gloucester Cathedral, Martin Rawles also played organ pieces by Bach, Sigfrid Karg Elert, William Croft and Marcel Dupré

During the interval, mulled wine and mince pies were served
