The Cappella Singers
and their Conductor Philip Colls
returned to Holy Trinity on Thursday 17th December for their annual
Christmas Concert. This time, they performed Christmas music written by
French composers ranging from Adam de la Halle in the 13th
century to Poulenc in the 20th,
and also including an arrangement by (living, English composer) Mark Blatchly of
a traditional French Carol. The
evening ended with a well-known carol where the audience joined in.
Robert
Dixon (choral scholar at Gloucester Cathedral) played the organ, both to accompany some of the choral items and
as a soloist.
